We have added a glossary to our resources area. It is a combination of traditional publishing and printing terms, marketing terms, internet terms and accounting terms.

At 32 pages it is still not a comprehensive list of all the terms you will come across but we hope that it will make publishing easier.

Did you know that ABA is the acronym for Australian Booksellers Association and the American Booksellers Association.

You are an author. Terrific!

Job or Hobby
But now the question is: Are you going to make money out of it or is it a fun sideline?

You can produce books as a fun and profitable sideline but don’t count on it. Writing takes work. It is a job. Writing books is not easy. Money from selling books is not easy.

Hobby
If you are writing books as a hobby, it means that you pay all the expenses and may be reimbursed some of the costs. Writing the book is not your day job.

"Everyone should write a book" - or so the saying goes.

But there is a big difference between should write a book, could write a book and can write a book and those who have actually done it.

Should is a forced action - almost like have a teacher telling you what to do.

Could write a book is the ability to write a book.

Can write a book implies you have the skill to write a book.

But the big one is that the author has actually written the manuscript ready to published.

I have decided to move the blog to the website I did have the website e-blogger but have decided to make my life easier my having everything in one place.

You will find over time that I like to make thing easier for everyone.

I will be redesigning and updating the website. This is really exciting for me. I to play.
